I got a pocket to drive a DMG screen….
OMFG WTF?!?!
yea ok its not that impressive but it is just a test.
first of all i am trying to map out both the pocket gameboy and the super gameboy 2, and i have found they use the same processor. so the super gamboy 2 is based on a pocket. this proved that at least the LCD pins i have worked out so far are right.
secondly, i wanted to see if i can use my video out projects i am working on, with the pocket gameboy. it seems like the pocket is just like a DMG but smaller, and so getting an output from the pocket is just as easy as the DMG.
thirdly, the pocket screen is almost identical to the DMG screen, it even uses the same driver, so using what i know now i might be able to work out how to fit the pocket screen into a DMG for high contrast.
so over all not that exciting but should lead to some more interesting things.
Is it technically feasible to connect a screen to the Super Gameboy or are there too many essential parts missing from it?
i have already done it, the only thing missing is the -18 supply from the voltage regulator, there should be a super gameboy project on here with the regulator in it. i have also put the super gameboy CPU into a normal gameboy, so its a the same thing in almost every way they just have a magic chip in the super gameboy that translates snes controls into gameboy ones, and gameboy video signals into PAL/NTSC signals,
